Fighting stress
Students always face the anxiety of test all the time. There are a few things which you can do for fighting stress:
- Preparing Your Body
The best way to sharpen your mind is to fine tune your body firstly. Mental performance is at peak when a body is fueled with healthy foods. The body should also be moderately exercised and the body should be given enough rest. You can have an occasional candy bar or popcorn. You should remember that you should not fill your body with junk foods. This will tend to give you a quick burst of energy. The energy will run our even before you actually you need it. You also need to drink a lot of water and also avoid extra caffeine. You can take long walks, shoot hoops. You can also jog, laugh, dance or take time for some other exercise which can help your heart pumping and this can help in fighting stress. You can start at least a week before exams and then you can continue to maintain that.
- Collecting Your Gear
You can organize early by getting some equipments and working on it by .collecting and inspecting your equipment. You will need some tests and quizzes. You might also need some notes, textbooks and workbooks. You can collect your review sheets and lists of vocabulary words. You can get the important names and dates, some theorems, laws and principles. You can organize all these materials so that you will have all of them when you begin to study.
- Mapping Your Route
For reducing your stress, you can plan ahead and get started with studies. You can ask your teacher for help in planning if you are not sure how to prepare for your exams. You can prepare a plan by scheduling some time ahead for each exam. You can also avoid putting things off. Procrastination is the greatest contributors to stress. Not only that, it also can reduce your success level. You can prepare a chart or calendar. This will include each test date. You can then plan backward and give yourself some three to six or seven days to start studying.
- Pack for the Journey
When you have a plan, you can look back at major tests, vocabulary words and so on. You can review lists of key points at the starting and end of chapter in text book. You can also see the main headings in between. You can get a set of note cards, and after that you can write each important topic from these materials to just one card. You can then go through your notes and then add some important points to remember. When you are ready to study, you can focus on the cards than referring to different books and papers.
